Chennai, Jan 27 (PTI) Continuing his giant-killing spree, Ankit Rajpara today humbled Grandmaster-elect M S Thejkumar in the fourth round of the Chennai Open International Grand Chess Masters Tournament here today.
Rajpara, who inflicted a shock defeat on Grandmaster Saidali Yuldashev of Uzbekistan yesterday, is sharing the lead with seven others, including two compatriots.
The other joint leaders with four points each are GM Maxim Turov of Russia, GM Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh, GM Marat Dzhumaev, IM Oliver Dimakiling and Bitoon Richard and Indian youngsters R Siddharth and Anwesh Upadhyaya.
In another good result for the hosts, Indian youngster, Vaibhav Suri of Delhi scored win over Grandmaster Pavel Kotsur of Kazakhisthan.
In a French Tarrasch game, Vaibhav controlled the center and slowly improved his pieces to launch a terrific attack on the Grandmasters? weakened King.
